I’ve been compiling a handy dandy guide to SEO for complete beginners. This is by no means a definitive guide… I haven’t gone right into the deep analysis that many might like to see, but then this is for beginners and is designed to give the absolute basic common sense stuff.

Good articles. There isn’t a definite guide because of Google algorithm changes

Some good ground rules there that should never be forgotten. For anyone that didn’t know anything about on-page optimization, you illustrated it fairly well by explaining how they should think of it as we scan a newspaper. I found a free e-book buy a guy named Brad Callen on seo which i found very useful, if anyones interested in some further reading on the subject.
