Well guys and gals, another week as an expat affiliate is drawing to a close. I’d wanted to take the time to do a really good meaty affiliate article to round things off. But there’s a problem. I’m knackered!!
It’s 4pm, I’ve just cleaned the apartment (yes, international jetsetting affiliates do chores too), and I can hardly keep my eyes open. The thing is, this has been one of the most exciting weeks of my life. Not only are a lot of my wedding preparations starting to really come together - two other huge things have happened.
1. Kieron Gave Myself & Duncan A Holiday To Use As A Mini Moon.
What a guy! I’m pleased to confirm Duncan and I are all booked up to leave for a fabulous trip courtesy of Sunshine.co.uk - Chris Clarkson of “UK Affiliate Manager of The Year” fame has been great and made all the arrangements for us after 2 late night MSN travel consultations!
He has got us sorted for an all inclusive week’s holiday in the gorgeous Roca Nevaria Hotel, Tenerife.
The fact that we’re going to be spending the few days after we get married here just makes it all the more special.
I’ve never been on a holiday in a place like this before, so I am really looking forward to blimping out beside the pool and taking full advantage of all the free booze and snacks!
As if winning a great holiday weren’t distraction from work enough…
2. We Bought A House On Tuesday!
Woohoo!! Its a done deal, and its a dream home. We went and finalised our mortgage yesterday and gave the real estate agent a $25,000 deposit cheque. After a rather nailbiting day of negotiations between ourselves and the vendors on Tuesday we agreed our price and signed a contract.
We are now the proud owners of a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom Queenslander style house on a gorgeous rainforest block.

So yeah… we’re absolutely thrilled about that now, but boy did we get ourselves nice and wound up during the housebuying process. We’ve not been worth five minutes work this week and just feel absolutely wrung out. The various stresses, anticipations, and endorphin type highs have knackered us. We also can’t sit down to work for five minutes without one of us starting a conversation thusly: -
“Hey hun, do you know what would look cool in the new house?”
So I apologise for not having had time to look at some meaty affiliate issues. I also apologise to anyone who has e-mailed me with Ask Kirsty questions this month. I’ll get to them in the end - I promise, so please be patient with me, lol.
Perhaps next week will be more normal - I can’t see how we could top this ![]()

fabulous house and fabulous mini-moon - you’re both so lucky - but we all know how much previous hard work has gone on to be this lucky

Is this another case of blogging Kama? You post useful, helpful tips and the universe rewards you with free holidays and fantastic looking homes (with a bar I see!). I think I might have to start posting useful tips to get some in my life.

The house looks fantastic, just a couple of questions, how do you cope with all the bugs - It looks very open to the elements.
Also wondered if its it easy to get fast internet connections in that part of the QLD and how are the property prices holding up over there, its not looking so great here in the UK
Enjoy your break
Adrian.

Hey hey everyone!
Razvan, the house was around the high $500k mark,
Max - you may come and stay anytime!
Breakingwaves - The house has total fly screening around all verandahs. It’s just so fine it doesn’t show up in the pictures! Internet isn’t so good as UK, but does the job adequately. Property prices are “flat” but not moving backwards in too many areas. The market has slowed and it simply means buyers have more choice and can get a slightly better price on a house. We don’t feel there will be a crash in our area… too many people moving here and not enough houses!
Everyone else - thanks for your good wishes. We are so very, very excited

Congratulations! What a gorgeous home. There are many affiliate marketers that dream of buying a house that nice! Take a break and clear your mind. Then jump back in to the affiliate marketing.

Congrats Kirsty, I have been happily married for 24 years. I wish you the best.
Wonderful house. I was born in England and moved to Australia as a kid. I have lived in Melbourne since. Australia is a great place to live. Well done

Cool digs!
Would be nice to have a house like that in England.
I’d just sit on the porch with my laptop and watch the rain come down
Hmmm bliss!

WOW Kirsty….it’s a super gorgeous home!! Seriously it “only” costs high $500k??!!!!! The thing is, here in Canada (Toronto to be exact), such a fancy house, complete with such a nice bar, would probably be closer to the $1 million mark, or possibly even more >_<.
May be I should move to Queensland someday! =)
June 19th, 2008 at 10:35 pm
well, in that case I got a bargain!
If I’d bought it 3 years ago it would have been closer to $300k. This area has just boomed in the last few years (but I’ll try not to think about that).
Strawberry Daquari’s all round!!

That is a beautiful house Kristy.. love the bar, spa and exposed beans on the ceiling. I guess I just love that Queenslander style with the big veranders all the way around.
Congratulations!
