At last my shiny new blog design is complete, and I absolutely love it! I was so fed up with my horrid old look that it was actually putting me off adding new features and developing my blog further!
I still have a few things to tinker around with, plugins to add, fiddling around with the order of the menu items etc… but I think it looks 1000% better than it has done. Some new features I think I will add…
- Most popular / useful posts for people who’ve just found the blog. I’ve written a whole heap of beginners info now and the best of them should probably be put in some sort of logical order.
- A photo gallery for my various travels and networking events (My mummy even reads this blog to see my pictures - hi Mum!!).
There’s also the thorny issue of blog sponsorship. I’ve been considering this for some time now, my work schedule means that I can’t post as much as I’d like simply because I am totally restructuring my affiliate business this year. I’m missing posting though, so I have reasoned that if I could monetise the blog just enough to get a little back for the time I put into it, I’ll be able to justify putting out more quality content.
As you’ll see, there’s now a “Sponsors” section in the menu which I will move to a more prominent position once I have found a relevant set of supporters for the blog. If anyone is interested in sponsorship they can Contact Me for a chat. No purveyors of MLM or shitty e-books, I’m not having that kind of stuff on here!
Finally Kudos To The Blog Designer…
Dan Cregin of Baltic Blog Design has done a great job on this theme. I particularly loved how he incorporated the strong theme of travel into his suggested designs. He was recommended to my by Kieron - whom he has done a fair bit of excellent work for, so thanks to him for the heads up.
Dan charges a very competitive £300 for custom blog designs, but because he is such a lovely chap he has offered readers of Affiliate Stuff a 10% discount. If you are interested in his services, simply Contact Him via the form on his blog with an outline of your requirements and tell him Kirsty sent you to get your discount!
Its a good, cheap way to get an affiliate site on the go.
If anyone has any suggestions for features they’d like to see on here, do give me a shout. I hope to add in some new bits and pieces in the coming weeks.

Hey very nice design Kirsty!
Did you have this theme SEO’ed also?

Thanks! I shall be dealing with the SEO side of things myself. Now that I’ve a new design I feel its worth spending some time tinkering with it to see if I can bring in some more visitors.

Must agree with others, great new look.
And if you are worried about sponsorship why not use the site to help promote your own services?
Your knowledge could prove valuable to those needing help and advice if you look to promote it.

Wow - seriously impressive design, I’m sure Dan is going to be very busy
(ps. one small issue, clicking on the main Affiliate Stuff logo in the top left-hand corner currently doesn’t take you to the home page as one might expect - instead it just reloads the current page).

Nice… although there’s a duck related link missing from your blogroll ;o)
Check the linking to “Affiliate Stuff” in the top graphic though, it doesn’t go to your homepage, just the page you’re currently viewing.

Suits you to a T. Certain a vast improvement. Congrats.

Thanks Guys!
Craig - Its not a question of me needing money as such. I no longer provide consultancy by choice. Too much responsibility. I’m only trying to find a way to bring posting back up onto my radar by earning a small amount from it every month… I guess it’s nice to get a little back from the time you put into something like this without having to try to monetise it via your readers (i.e. from their pocket!)
Jason - I will add you to my blogroll soonest. Forgive the omission. Quack. Quack!
Jason & Martin - yeah I noticed that too… I’ll get it fixed!
May 29th, 2008 at 10:21 am
Ta - noticed I didn’t have you on OLD either… oops :o(
Tis linked in now though!
May 29th, 2008 at 10:28 am
OK it’s fixed! I had intended to put the correct URL there
Thanks for the positive comments!
Cheers!

Nice design, seeing some rounded white images (Table ends I guess) on the side you might want to have that looked at.

Hey… what images can you see? I’m not seeing it in Firefox or Explorer?
