Just Noticed Google Sitelinks in Adwords

General Add comments

I’m about a month behind the times with this I know, but I’ve just seen my first ever example of Google sitelinks in an Adwords ad: -

Seems they are beta testing this at the moment.  That is one massive chunk of online real estate at the top of the SERPS there.  Wonder if it’s just going to be for brand names or if other search terms might be included?

How much would you have to pay for “Mortgage” etc I wonder?  I’d love an ad like that for some of my key terms, it would be really interesting to see what a difference it made in terms of CTRs.

I’ve not noticed that! Well spotted! I will now keep my eye out for it.

Do you not think though with the addition of news, blogs, images and now more lines of ads, that google is moving away from the clear layout that made them so popular?

I think you may have a point there. They are apparently beta testing this at the moment and I imagine they’ll be looking at the effects on the advertiser with such a prominent listing as well as overall effect on other advertisers on the page / how people react to this kind of format generally. Unless well managed, it might well start to look a bit untidy.

Already got some clicks from that placement but it’s in US. You may even spot a blue checkout icon in google.us like here http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&gl=US&q=nikon+d300&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g10 which I guess makes even more appeal.
