That’s It! Time To Arrange Some More Travel!!

Yeah, you didn’t really think I was going to settle down over here in Australia and not come up with some more ridiculously outlandish travel ideas, did you? Tsk, tsk, tsk you really should have known better!

Actually, these plans are not imminent but seeing as we have to get on a plane to go to the UK for our wedding… It’d be a shame not to go and visit a few places while we’re out and about, wouldn’t it?

OK, so here it is… my travel plan so far…

Obviously we are sticking around after the wedding to attend the most excellent A4UExpo – hope to see you all there for a chat and to toast our nuptuals! Before that, we’ll have been on a short honeymoon-ette somewhere Eupropean and warm.

Right after the Expo we’re getting our bahookies on a plane and heading for….

Singapore!
Singapore!
We’ll be jumping off the plane here and rampaging round one of the worlds cleanest and tidiest cities, not forgetting to visit the Raffles Hotel and have one of their fine Singpore Slings. Given our newlywed status I very, very nearly booked us into the Raffles. However the girl inside me who was brought up in a 2 bedroom council house just couldn’t let me do it. I can afford it, I just can’t bring myself to spend that much cash on a hotel room!!

After the hangovers have worn off (come on, I’m not only going to have one – look at the money I saved on the hotel room!) its back in a taxi to the airport where we will fly to Phuket and then jump a ferry to…

Railey Beach!!
Railey
Wooo hoo!! I’m absolutely delighted to be revisiting this isolated and chilled out beach. You have to catch a water taxi (aka a Thai man in a dodgy longtail boat) to get there as it’s not reachable by road.

However, we will not be slumming it fear ye not. We will be yumming up a bit of luxury in our hotel room complete with private outdoor spa at Railay Village Resort. Its going to be hard, but I’m going to tough my way through it.

Following on from that we will grab another boat and head for….

Koh Lanta!
Koh Lanta
We didn’t make it here on our last trip to Thailand, so we have decided to have a bit of a look at it and chill out for a few days. After that, we’ll be getting a ferry to….

Langkawi, Malaysia!
Langkawi
“What the hell” We thought. “Malaysia is right next door to Thailand… we’d be mad to miss the opportunity to sample what it has to offer!”

After this we head on back to Singapore and fly back to Queensland. The end of our fun? Nah! About ten minutes after we get back…

Chris Frost Arrives For His Holidays!!
Chris Frost
For anyone who doesn’t know, Chris Frost is the jaded fellow on the far right. As you can see, he doesn’t mind a gin fizz or ten (so we all get along just great!) and we will be spending 2 to 3 weeks showing off the very best of Australia’s East Coast to Chris. We will probably take in Fraser Island and some other tropical gems as well as a trip round every bar in Brisbane! As Chris is a keen diver, himself and Duncan will be making like Charlie’s Angels and getting into their wetsuits for some underwater fun.

Once Chris has headed back to the UK, we will be working for 3 entire weeks. Then we’re off to…

Auckland, New Zealand!!
Auckland

We will be spending a couple of weeks in this beautiful city catching up with Duncan’s family and swapping travel stories (our wedding has meant an awful lot of European trips for his parents and sisters!). We will be spending Christmas and New Year here before heading for…

New Zealand’s South Island!

Milford Sound
We thought we’d better round things off with a bit of a tour of the South Island seeing as we missed it the last time. I’m desperate to see sights such as Milford Sound and the Glaciers.

Then…
It probably will be time to go home, because we will have spent 3 and a half months travelling here and there. We will probably have bought a house just before we leave so it’ll most likely be time to put away the backpacks again and do a bit of DIY.

Until….
2 months later when we get them back out again and go to a wedding in Ireland! Given my extreme talent for turning a simple journey somewhere into an outlandish travel extravaganza… anything could happen here, lol.

Phew… I’m not sure how all this happened, but I reckon its going to be a great start to our married life and of course will produce some rather amazing pictures to show off here.

Hurahh!!

    Hi Kirsty,

    Wow!
Though I am green with envy, that got my Monday morning off to a nice start :-) !!

    Katie

  2. Chris Says:

That got my Monday morning off to the worse start ever! When will that photograph stop being used and abused? Ever? :(

You forgot to mention about the swedish backpackers ;)

  3. Duncan Says:

Sounds fantastic! Although we all know the best way to enjoy Thailand is slumming it in a sweaty backpacker hostel exchanging horrifying stories about misadventures with ladyboys on the Khaosan Road …or… was that just me?
Heh, on a serious note I’m just a little jealous. A 2 year work visa to NZ is top of my list when I return from stateside next year.
Wishing you guys all the best! Keep on clocking up those air miles.

  4. Franklin Says:

Kirsty!!!!! Don’t forget Bali (Indonesia)!!!!! =P

  5. Melvin Says:

    Hi Kirsty,

Welcome to Singapore. I hope you enjoy your stay. If you stay long enough, dont forget to visit Sentosa. If you are the party goers, try Ministry of Sound or St James Power Station.

    Hi Kirsty,

Sounds a great trip – so jealous. I went to Singapore and New Zealand last year and it was fantastic. I’d have to agree with Melvin and recommend a visit to Sentosa Island (worth setting aside a day), but without doubt you’ll have to spend some of your cash in the hundreds of Shopping Malls!

In NZ, rather than going to Milford Sound, try Doubtful Sound. It’s not nearly as touristy and on a good day you can feel like you’re the only one there. We went on an overnight boat trip (small boat, 3 of us + crew) on Doubtful Sound in September and it was amazing.

    Anyway, have a great trip.

    Darren

P.S. The people in Singapore are the friendliest I’ve come across. It doesn’t suprise me that Melvin listed his phone no., but I’m not sure it was a great idea on the net.

I think this is what wannabe affiliates dream of doing – packing the laptop whilst travelling, working and earning!

    Hope you enjoy your travels.

  8. yourpoint Says:

So let me see if I understand the overall point of this post……

    hmmmm

    no idea

    Flaunt your money and travel

you just have to tell someone how excited you are to travel

    the pictures are pretty

    did you have a point?

  9. Kirsty Says:

Urrr “Yourpoint”. Ummm… that is the point of this blog? If you take the time to go back though all the old posts you’ll see this blog is all about me being able to travel and make money.

It’s supposed to be inspirational. And if you also take the time from your busy bitching and moaning schedule and read every single post in this blog, you’ll see not one mention of what my income actually is (and a lot of posts trying to help other people acheive their affiliate dream). If you don’t like it I’m sorry, but it ain’t my problem bucko.

Everyone else – Ohhh!! Thanks I can’t wait, I’m really looking forward to this great trip. Might be the last one for quite some time.

Chris – I’m sorry about the picture, it’s just that it makes me giggle every time I see it. A proper Vegas 4am moment!

  10. Kirsty Says:

Oh, and look if you absolutely must mingle with Swedish backpackers make sure you pick one with an ugly friend – alright?!

  11. paul Says:

    Kristy,

Your comment #9 made my day!! Your attitude, your verbiage, and your sarcasm was greatly appreciated by this fan of your blog. You information is excellent, and never listen to the naysayers and whiners.

I am a huge fan also of Thailand, having lived there for quite a while. I wish you chok dee (good luck), also in Phuket Naiharn Beach is excellent imho, as well as Surin Beach.

Again thank you so much for sharing your information freely about affiliate marketing, and some of the more technical aspects of this wonderful way to make money.

    Paul

  12. Kirsty Says:

Hi Paul, My pleasure! Thailand is such a beautiful country. Its beauty is only matched by the personalities of the locals, who are just lovely. A truly relaxing place to hang out!

Chok dee to you too :)

  13. Kev Forth Says:

Kirsty that looks like the most amazing trip and something to aspire to. Can’t wait to see the photos.

  14. mike Says:

    Hi
Been reading your blog for a while now and i think its great – One of my top reads – Full of inspiration.

I had to laugh when you said “It’d be a shame not to go and visit a few places while we’re out and about”
The only places I tend to go when I’m out and about these days is the supermarket to get the weekly shop.

I backpacked up the east coast of Australia a few years ago and it was one of the best times – Hope to visit again sometime after i’ve made a few more sales LOL

Hope you and the lucky man have a great day and and enjoy your travels.

But don’t forget to keep blogging along the way :)

  15. Kirsty Says:

Thanks Mike, Thanks Kev (or “Our Kev” as you seem to be universally known!)

I’m really looking forward to it on one hand, but am quite anxious about the impact on the business on the other. But hey… we have to get on a plane to get back over here to OZ so we’d be mad not to actually jump off at the free stopovers.

The blogging will definately be kept up along the way. Expect lots of wedding pictures!

  16. Tom Thorns Says:

Wow! Seeing that picture of Railay Beach really brought back some good memories. I stayed there last year when I was in Thailand, there’s lot of amazing climbing to be had around there – make sure you go to the hidden lagoon too!

  17. Kirsty Says:

It’s gorgeous isn’t it Tom? We spent a week there too last year and could have quite happily stayed for a LOT longer!

  18. Tom Thorns Says:

Yeah it’s an amazing place, I’ve got to get my act together and plan another Thailand trip! Have fun, keep us updated so we can all be jealous!

  19. Colin Says:

Good luck with the Awards, I’m sure you’ll win, it was great to meet a fellow west coaster last year. The travel plans sound ace, no wee trip over to the eastern seaboard for the full moon party?

  20. Kirsty Says:

Thanks Colin, it’s really enough to be nominated. I’m pleased I make enough of a difference to people’s days to make them think of me!

No, we’ll be too busy relaxing to do the full moon party. It’d be a total rabble TBH, so I think we’ll be too chilled!!
