2 Weeks Of Blissful Domesticity = One Pair Itchy Feet!

Hey hey folks, I know I’ve not been a terribly prolific poster of late… but if it makes you all feel better, I feel bad about it :( I guess when you’re settling yourself into a new country you get a bit out of your normal routine.

So Duncan and I have now been officially “settled down” for two weeks. We’ve rushed around and bought exciting products such as more than one duvet cover, and have gotten used to being able to stand up in our house without bashing ourselves sensless on the roof. I’ve even gone mad and bought Duncan a beautiful second hand Gas BBQ so that he may cook beautiful food for me ($50 from e-bay for a gas barbie… what bargainous purchasing!!).

MMmmmmm BBQ!

Now, just to be crystal clear here… exactly 16 days ago I was praying to god that time would speed up and making rash statments like “To F**K with travel. I’m fed up with all this, it’s pish so it is. I want an indoor bathroom. I want private space!! That’s it. No More, not ever. Na-ah, No Way”

Fast forward 10 days…
So What Have I Been Doing?

Yeah. That’s right. Looking for flights to some of the Pacific Islands. I’ve been thinking back all misty eyed on all my travels. Without the prospect of travel to somewhere warm and beachy, life lacks a certain little something. What’s that?

Uhhh…. yeah. Stuff like that. It’s official. My name is Kirsty McCubbin and it transpires that I am a travel-o-holic. At an age where a very significant proportion of my friends are out onto their second baby… I still need them exotic trips!

The Solution?

http://www.VirginBlue.com.au. Yup. That’s right, good old Ricky is going to sort me out. I’m now on the lookout to a cheap flight to sunnier climes. Somewhere. Anywhere. But I’m gonna have to book – a trip!! It’ll have to be a short one…

Ho Hum. Anyone got any ideas?!

Kirsty, i’ve always wondered, does Duncan work for a living too, as it would be incredibly jammy for both of you to have a job like this that allows you the freedom to travel whilst earn? Does he get involved with your projects or steer clear of the mad scottish bird ;)

Also, do you participate in any australian affiliate programmes, or is there not alot out there?

Just passing thoughts from jealous me :)

Hi Ian, Duncan works full time for my affiliate marketing business and does a great job of it as well! He’s responsible for the more technical side of things such as product feeds, site design, and graphics.

I’m not doing anything with Australian affiliate programmes right now, but I’d like to give it a shot. I’ve been to a Brisbane networking meeting and have met some merchants, which is very useful. I will have to give it some thought!

    Aloha Kirsty,

So you are looking for travel ideas? Well I would recommend Hawaii. Duncan and you came to Honolulu but there are many unique things to do on the other six islands. I would suggest the Big Island to view the volcano, Maui for some diving, Molokai for a step back into time, Kauai for its beautiful environment, and Lanai for its unique beauty.

If you guys do make it out to Honolulu again, I would be more than happy to arrange a meet-up with some of the local bloggers and affiliate marketing types. We just had Jeremiah Owyang come out to Hawaii. We took him to a local secret eatery. Here are some pics:

Hope to see you out here soon :)

Hey Chris…. Hawaii again sounds awesome. By far the best but of America we experienced (largely because you guys have that fantastic island attitude).

We went to the big island for 5 days (I’m a huge volcano fan). No lava :(

I’ll give you a shout if we decide to come through there again. There’s a trip to the UK next April we’ve not nutted out yet… and we would love to see all the bits of beautiful Hawaii we missed!
