Congratulations Kirsty. Although it's already been said, it's just a day. An important day... but not everything has to be perfect! Honest!
We worried for months ahead of ours, but what you realise - too late! - is that it's the two people who are important... The rest is, well, icing on the cake!
Don't stress, enjoy!

LOL @ Amit. My family would talk about me for decades if I employed a wedding planner. I genuinely don't think there are any where I grew up. Too many farmers and poor people, lol. My Mummy and Auntie are doing great, I'll give them £50 when they're finished - ha ha ha!!

@ Cable Guy & Lee. You are of course correct. But that won't stop me from being one of life's worriers.

@ Winston, yep you are right. I do have a motto for the day "If it's close enough, it's good enough". I will try really hard to stick to it ;)

@ David, I'd forgotten you were getting married too! Hope your wedding planning goes well. Thanks for the words of advice.

The most important thing is to keep it simple and enjoy yourself! Simple weddings are often the best and a relaxed bride and groom is always better then a stressed one! And like Lee said, it is the marrage that is important, not the wedding. So just chill and enjoy it.

Kirsty, let me give you some advice from a guy who's been married almost 30 years. (I got married when I was six--very precocious! lol)

Surely the wedding is important! But what's so much more important is the marriage.

A wedding lasts a day. A marriage lasts (or is supposed to last) a lifetime!

Relax about the wedding. If you trip on the first dance, who cares! Just see yourself as providing entertainment for your guests.

It's the day after the wedding and the day after that and the day after that and the year after...That's what matters.

All the best! I'm sure things will work out just fine!

Ha "I see You Baby" would be a good one, and crazy wedding dances are defintely the way to go these days (http://www.wistop.com/list-creative-wedding-dance.html). I just did the hold and sway thing myself.

My advice to anyone about to take the plunge - don't get too hung up on the finer detail and making it all "perfect". My wife was very much like that and of course a number of things went wrong. Totally unpredictable and nothing we could have done. And you know what, none of these things spoilt the day at all. Concentrate on the 1 thing that matters - having your friends and family there to witness your marriage.

But yeah, no bride-to-be is ever going to take that message on board ;)!

Best of luck :)

Feeling your stress Kirsty!!!

We have 6 weeks on Saturday until the big day and still have a pretty long "to do list". My biggest concern is that my wedding dress isnt anywhere near finished yet (its being made) so how can I decide on shoes, hair, jewellery until i see the finished product... :-(

i have a great song to walk in to but cant give anything away so will email it to you :-)

Looking forward to exchanging photos at expo

Kirsty, why not start an affiliate site on weddings - that way you combine your love for affiliate marketing with your wedding planning. Problem solved! lol

Keep an eye out for music CD's on wedding magazines. The first one we picked up had exactly the music we were after :-)

We're having a small do so the menu options were were given to choose from was restrictive anyway. Sometimes too much choice is bad!

The gift list was the worst part for us as most of the stuff we need we own. We came up with a list (and chose a high street retailer to manage it - less stress) only to find out most guests would rather offer money. Can't complain though as that would mean we could do things like swimming with dolphins and once in a lifetime type activities on our honeymoon.

As the other half works full time and I don't ;-) I'm the one sorting most things out. I like it that way as I know exactly where everything is. The most stressful part was getting the right venue. Since then, the most stressful part has been watching all those pennies disappear! Eek!

Just remember to take a chill pill every now and then and you'll be fine. So I've been told. ;-)
